March 2010 Sharon Baker Kelly, aka Diva Weava, was awarded "Weaver of Distinction in Fashion" at the New England Weavers Seminar in 2009. She maintains a sewing and weaving studio in Rollinsford, NH, where she teaches and creates her award winning garments.
Erica Pfister has been a member of the League of NH Craftsmen for many years, selling her Krokbragd rugs and pillows for the past 16 years. The Weaver's Guild has honored Erica by awarding her the "Best in Weaving" in the Living with Crafts exhibit at the Sunapee Fair for several different years. She loves using the Krokbragd technique for creatively combining color and design - making sturdy, useful products. Erica's website is: pfisterrugs.com
Rose Ann Hunter lives in Newburyport Massachusetts. She has been involved in needle arts for the past 50 years and has been teaching workshops for the last 25 years. In 2005 she was chosen as craft person in residence at Old Sturbridge Village in traditional rug making 1790 to 1850. She lectures and teaches at Living History Museums, historical societies, guilds and conferences throughout the US. She has adapted and developed over 30 different techniques of rug making that are knitted, crocheted and sewn and has brought them to present day. Her passion is for the standing wools and shirred rugs which she has been designing multi techniques patterns for ladies to get a sampling of making old new again, by recycling old clothes into heirloom rugs. Diana Frost came to weaving as a post-grad student at the Boston School of Occupational Therapy in 1955. Marriage and family put weaving on hold for 15 years when her family surprised her with a Harrisville Designs loom of her very own! She still weaves on that loom but it has been joined by many others including a 16 shaft AVL Compudobby. She achieved Weaver of Distinction at the New England Weavers Seminar as well as other honors. She has served as President of NHWG twice, Dean of the Weavers Guild of Boston, and President of NEWS. She says that scarcely a day goes by when she doesn't at least THINK about weaving.
Fran Curran has been presenting weaving workshops and giving lectures in the New England area for the past twenty years. She is past president of the Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut and was co-president of NEWS 2007. Fran currently teaches at Wesleyan Potters in Middletown, CT, a position she has held since 1983. Since January 2005, she has also been designing and teaching at the Hartford Artisans Center. Fran has a B.A. in Fine Arts, Printed Textile from Manchester College of Art and Design, Manchester, England. She also has a teaching diploma from Sussex University, Brighton, England. After moving to the US, Fran received a M.A.L.S. with a concentration in Printmaking from Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT. Fran exhibits and sells her weaving throughout New England.
Barbara Herbster's pleasure is sharing the excitement of weaving with others. She has been teaching and lecturing New England weavers for 35 years. Shuttle Song, her business, supplies hats, scarves and shawls to galleries in MA, NH, NJ, NY, and CT. Her woven work has appeared in numerous articles for Handwoven Magazine. Most recently, in an article for HGA, she led a Learning Exchange about Bamboo yarn.
May 2010 Elizabeth Lang Harris has been teaching a wide variety of textile techniques for more than 20 years. She is co-author of "Parallel Shadow Weave" and author of "From Weaving to Knitting". She has published articles in weaving and spinning magazines and has won awards for her teaching, weaving, and spinning. Elizabeth is a Past Dean of the Weavers' Guild of Boston. She and her husband are working on a new monograph on triaxal weaving.
